Have you ever seen one of those New Years TV specials where they drop a load of balloons on the crowd at midnight? That's what a balloon drop is. This is good for those types of indoor events that reach a crescendo, or there is some part of the event that you want to emphasize. Some possibilities are:

Balloon Releases

A balloon release is exactly the opposite of a drop. A lot of helium filled balloons are released outdoors and allowed to drift away. The nice thing about a release is that it is very scalable. it can range from a huge release with hundreds of balloons like you could see at a parade to a group of friends releasing balloons instead of throwing rice at a wedding.

Don't Balloons Harm the Environment?

This is a valid concern, but a balloon release done properly has almost no impact at all on the environment. Bloomin' Balloons uses only natural latex balloons for balloon releases, which rot quickly upon exposure to sunlight and water. In fact, a latex balloon released will shatter into small pieces in the upper atmosphere before it ever comes back to earth.

Any reports you may have heard about balloons hurting wildlife have been with Mylar balloons, which we NEVER use for releases.
